HLF supports York Mansion House project

HLF supports York Mansion House project

York’s Mansion House Opening Doors project has been granted £1.2m funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to improve access, exhibition displays and the conservation at the historic venue.

Architects De Matos Ryan will refurbish this Grade 1 Listed building and develop a dynamic visitor experience as one of the top cultural and civic attractions in York.

The first purpose-built house for a Lord Mayor in the country, Mansion House is a focal point for the local community, hosting numerous civic and community events.

The HFL funding will allow the building the ability to develop a resilient financial future, engaging more people in learning at the Georgian townhouse, providing easier and enhanced public access and community involvement.
