Green light for £100m Salterns Marina upgrade

Green light for £100m Salterns Marina upgrade

Salterns Marina in Poole is set to benefit from a £100m revamp after Poole Borough Council voted unanimously to grant the planning application.

The redevelopment will change the face of the marina by demolishing all the existing buildings, including the hotel, and erecting two multi-storey mixed use developments containing 73 residential units, a 60 room, five star hotel as well as restaurants, offices and marina service facilities.

It also includes the construction of a new quay wall around the development and raising the site by 3.6m as part of the sea defence for the area.

Property consultant Richard Carr, who acted on behalf of Salterns Marina to put together the application, is in negotiations with the owners of the Ivy in London’s West End about opening a rooftop branch at the new building which is set to replace the Harbourside Hotel.

The development will also feature a spa and gym for the local community and a car park.
