Proposals for £60m revival of Templars Square

Proposals for £60m revival of Templars Square

A planning application has been submitted to Oxford City Council to revitalise the heart of Cowley.

The £60m mixed-use proposals from NewRiver Reit, the owner of Templars Square shopping centre, preserve the existing shops and also add a hotel, new restaurant units, a dramatically improved streetscape and pedestrian routes, modernised car parking and new feature entrances. The proposed development will also have more than 200 apartments.

The mix of new uses is designed to improve the experience for shoppers and the wider local community to attract new shoppers, encourage longer visits, support a welcoming local evening economy and act as a major catalyst to growth and further investment for the whole town.
