£1m revamp for snow centre

£1m revamp for snow centre

A centre for snow sports has undergone a £1m redevelopment project to offer two new ski slopes.

Newmilns Snow & Sports Complex, a registered charity and social enterprise community organisation in Ayrshire, has transformed its original slope into two new slopes catering for beginners to more advanced skiers.

The slopes measure 32m and 100m long and have two lengths of bristles to facilitate downhill skiing and manoeuvres to cater for skiers and snowboarders. A new table top jump area has also been created.

Contractor Barr Construction took seven months to complete the project, which received funding from a variety of sources including sportscotland, Landfill Communities Fund, the Scottish Rural Development Programme, Social Investment Scotland and East Ayrshire Council.
