Aberdeen Sports Village

Aberdeen Sports Village

A new cornerstone for swimming in the North East of Scotland, the £22m Aquatics Centre at the Aberdeen Sports Village counts Prospec’s award winning Cabrillant Shower Cubicles amongst the trusted products on its specification.

Prospec, the No.1 in lockers and cubicles, also installed products from its versatile Marathon and Trojan ranges.

The unprecedented new development - a joint project between the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen City Council and Sportscotland - saw John Graham Construction appointed as contractors and Faulknerbrowns attached as the architects.

The new aquatic centre which aims to ensure all members of the community can access good quality swimming facilities, boasts a 50m, 10 lane Olympic standard pool. It is now one of just 10 aquatic centres in the UK to offer full diving facilities, with 3m, 5m, 7.5m and 10m diving platforms.

Jean Paul Colback, Technical Manager for Faulknerbrowns commented: “We specified Prospec lockers, cubicles, vanity units and benching for Aberdeen Aquatics Centre because of their market leading quality in the sport and leisure sector. With decades of experience in this area, Faulknerbrowns have extensive knowledge and understanding of the need for sound engineering, quality materials and robustness, to cope with the demands of these heavily used facilities.”

Prospec have collaborated with Faulknerbrowns in the past, developing bespoke products to meet specific needs of clients and end-users. And, though engineering is core to what we do, we are also pleased to have been able to offer striking and modern colour schemes to the development.
