Certikin OC-1

Reduce swimming pool running costs with OC-1 Filtration Media. OC-1 is used in place of sand or gravel in the pool filter and works through settlement as opposed to entrapment allowing greater flows and enhanced debris collection. It is ideal for use with variable speed pump technology and maintains a constant flow even as it collects debris. In fact the debris capacity is more than 20 times that of sand!

With OC-1 in the pool’s filters, the speed of the pumps can be reduced by around 20% using a variable speed drive. This offers dramatic savings in energy costs. For example, a traditional sand and gravel filtration system with a 4.1kW pump with a flow of 50m3/hr will cost approximately £11.80 per day to run. When the filter media is converted to OC-1 and the pump speed reduced, the pump will cost £5.67 per day to run, a saving of £6.13 per day or £2,237.45 per year.

Key benefits

  • Reduces energy and water consumption - OC-1 maintains constant flow rates, even when the media becomes dirty. The constant flow means pumps can be run at lower speeds, thus saving energy.
  • Filters down to 1 micron as verified by IFTS
  • Can replace sand, gravel or glass in any swimming pool filter
