The scheme, which includes a new multi-screen cinema, shops, restaurants and 150 new homes, is central to realising plans to develop an evening economy in Redhill.

The concrete frame of the residential block has now reached its full height of 13 floors, marking the highest point of the construction. Works started on site in January 2020 and are on schedule to be completed in late summer 2022.

The project is funded by the council with a contribution of £2m from the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership.

“It’s a delight to see the excellent progress being made at the development. We are not only celebrating that the construction has reached its highest point, we are also celebrating the great work of the many people involved in this significant project for Redhill. It will give residents and workers a fantastic new leisure destination for day and evening entertainment, boost the local economy, create hundreds of jobs and provide modern new homes,” said Cllr Jill Bray, Mayor of Reigate & Banstead.

The council is in negotiations with a number of potential tenants for the commercial units and is currently finalising terms with its selected cinema operator and a large retailer.
