Sustainable flooring for eco holiday homes

DESIGNER Contracts supplied a variety of floor coverings for Keymer Community Centre at Burgess Hill, West Sussex in response to the brief for practical and durable products that visually matched the building’s modern aesthetic while meeting all health and safety requirements.

The centre at the Kings Weald new homes development on the former Keymer Tiles site includes a sports hall, kitchen, cafe, creche, meeting/function rooms, and a viewing gallery for the sports hall.

Designer Contracts fitted out all areas except for the main sprung hall floor, supplying nearly 700sq m of floorcoverings. Products included Polysafe Quattro, a heavy duty wet room safety flooring designed to provide slip resistance for those using continually wet areas in either footwear or bare feet.

The main staircase was fitted with a hardwearing, fully solution dyed nylon carpet tile, while PolySafe Wood FX was used across the entrance and meeting areas. The decorative safety vinyl flooring range combines sustainable slip resistance with high durability.
